John Hay High School in Cleveland placed on lockdown after 55-year-old man shot nearby

Cleveland police are investigating after a man was shot on Wednesday afternoon near John Hay High School.

Cleveland Division of Police officials tells 3News that a 55-year-old man was shot in the lower jaw at East 105th Street and Carnegie Avenue. The Cleveland Metropolitan School District confirmed to 3News that John Hay High was under lockdown due to police activity in the area.

Following the shooting, the victim was taken to Cleveland Clinic via private auto.
