Carrie Irvin is passionate about making sure every child has the chance to attend a great school. After a career in education policy and public education reform, she accidentally became an education entrepreneur when she and a colleague founded Charter Board Partners. The nonprofit is dedicated to improving the quality of public charter schools by helping them build stronger boards of directors.
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
