I was on BBC WORLD NEWS today regarding the government’s immigration policy. Here is the video.
GUYS, LEARN TO CALM DOWN.
Yesterday, I had an interview on BBC World and saw some funny comments after posting the video. I could not stop laughing.
Some guys wanted me to attack the government like we do in our home country, but that is not necessarily the right approach to being heard. You become a nuisance that way.
I have always represented the interest of immigrants in this country because of my personal experience. My immigration experience was horrible: My application was refused several times. My appeal was denied several times. I reported at the police station for 8 years. I was detained for 5 weeks and almost deported despite having a British-born wife and three British children. I know the unfairness of the system. I know that there is modernized racism in the UK. I know that because I have lived here for 35 years.
I have been regularly on television in the UK for over 21 years, speaking on immigration issues when many lawyers were afraid to speak openly on immigration. Some of those making funny remarks under my post were still in diapers then. It is too late for me to be afraid to talk now.
The point I was trying to make during the very short interview is that the government has to control the influx of foreign nationals, but it must do so with a human face and be fair. The government must acknowledge the contributions that immigrants are making to the UK economy. It seems they are being hung up to dry.
The Black and Asian MPs must speak out in the parliament on behalf of the immigrants, but they hardly do. Instead, they get them to do the dirty jobs by making them the Home Secretary for the ruling government and the opposition party.
I also mentioned the fact that the Prime Minister was stampeded into taking this tough stance on immigration because they have come under pressure from the Reform Party and the Conservative Party, who are pushing a racist agenda by projecting immigrants as the central problem of this society. They are misleading the public to garner votes.
Ordinarily, a Labour Party Prime Minister will never speak like Sir @Keir_Starmer did yesterday. I was surprised. He is under immense pressure. The Labour Party is usually the haven for the downtrodden and immigrants.
Overall, I believe that all the parties are picking on immigrants rather than bringing up a better economic policy. For example, what is the economic policy of the Reform and Conservative Parties apart from the immigration rhetoric?
One way to get the economy back on its feet is to get many Britons who have been on benefits for years and have never worked to work. I know quite a lot of Britons who have not worked for years, and they earn more than those who are working.
So, guys, calm down. I will continue to represent your interests. You do not have to shout or abuse people to make a point. That is a very weak approach.
I will also say immigrants should calm down. There is no need to panic. The government has always tried to control immigration, but are many British citizens ready to do the work? The UK courts are also competent and will strike down unlawful immigration laws and policies. It is not all down to the government. The game is on👍🏼
