Running off or wandering away towards danger is a real reality for children on the spectrum. Its a fear a lot of autism parents have to deal with on a daily. Here are some tips that have helped my son understand the basic safety skills needed to prevent elopement as well as some prevention strategies that can help with sensory seekers that get sensory input from running or for kiddos that run off due to communication difficulties.
