Roman Candle Cakes (Magnus & Mad Ox)

In this video, we lit three roman candle cakes from two brands to see if they are rewrapped (same cake, with different packaging/brand). Lights, Camera, Action from Mad Ox, and the Typical Male assortment, including I Can Fix It, Mansplaining, and I Don't Need Directions from Magnus Fireworks, are both 3/1 case assortments. I attempted to light the same shot count cakes at the same time spaced 100' feet apart. I had three of the six not light from my MJGs initiators, which I was worried about happening from the beginning, but it was my only option without fuse ignitors on-site. All of the MJGs did ignite and charred the fuse on the cakes but didn't light them. One of the three did pop off the fuse, while the other two were still attached. I attempted this method because of the "fuse tube" initiators on the market, which are literally MJG initiators but with a larger diameter shroud to fit around more fuse varieties. The main difference is the fuse tubes have a clear tube so you can see where the fuse is relative to the initiator's head to ensure ignition. Overall, I liked these cakes. The performance of the Magnus roman candle barrages definitely outperformed the Mad Ox cakes. Did you have a favorite cake? Let me know in the comments!
