Katherine Bernhardt

Katherine Bernhardt (American, born in 1975 in Clayton, Missouri) is a contemporary painter. His style is characterized by fast, flowing brushstrokes and a vibrant color palette. The women Bernhardt portrays are emaciated, fashionable, and everyday objects like tacos, cigarettes, or basketballs become playful through her hand. During an exhibition held at the CANADA gallery in New York, Bernhardt creates large-scale installations, painting the walls and covering the floor with hand-woven Moroccan rugs.
Katherine Bernhardt's work has been exhibited internationally since 2000. She has been included in both solo and group shows with galleries such as CANADA, the Hole, Team Gallery, VENUS, China Art Objects Galleries, V1 Gallery, Gavin Brown's Enterprise and Xavier Hufkens.
