This year, 188 first-year medical students received their white coats during a special ceremony Friday, Aug. 9 at Bayou City Event Center. This event is a rite of passage for the medical students as they don their coats and take an oath affirming their commitment to the highest standards of ethics and patient care. The class of 2017 was the 10th class to receive sponsorship of their white coats from the BCM Alumni Association, which has established the White Coat Fund.
