This drama offers an in-depth approach to Kim Doo-han, a figure positioned at the sharpest point of conflict and contradiction in Korea's modern history. As the son of Kim Chwa-jin, the commander-in-chief of the independence army, Kim Doo-han lived through the Japanese colonial period, existed at the very center of the extreme left-right ideological conflict, and was involved in fierce political struggles between dictatorship and democracy. The series aims to portray the "human" Kim Doo-han while also revealing the truth of the era he lived in from a different perspective.
