Danny "Mafia" Maff and Monsta Mack made up Da Hit Squad and they were one of the best tag teams on the independents in the 2000s. They wrestled everywhere and gained popularity for throwing their opponents into the wall at Charity Hall in Bayonne, the first home of JAPW. Mafia and Mack are extremely decorated as a team and as singles wrestlers.
They were known on the indies for their brawling and brutal style which contrasts against their opponents in this match, Charlie and Russ, The Haas Brothers. In September 2001, Russ suffered a heart attack and later died in his sleep 3 months later in December. Charlie eventually went on to the WWE and paid tribute to his brother, inscribing "RUSS" on his wrist tape.
These two teams were no strangers to each other, having battled numerous times in JAPW and JCW alike. Despite the style clashes here, all four men brawled all over the building in an effort to take home the JCW Tag Team Championship!
