Mary Winchester has been such a big part of this show. Dean has been affected by her death the whole series. After watching the latest episode I was so glad they had Dean ask Amara why she brought her back. I always thought it was just to give him what he needed his whole life, what he'd always wanted. But after hearing her answer it made so much sense. He'd always had this picture of his mom, that if she'd been alive everything would be okay. That she was some kind of angel. But after bringing her back he could finally see that that's not who she is. She made mistakes, she was complicated. The scene where he forgave her for everything she did shows Dean finally understood that. Although I was not a fan of how they brought back Mary, I do see how important it was for Dean's character development and the whole storyline since season 1. He's always been so angry. He's so angry about everything that happens to them, how they never get to be happy. He thought it all started with Mary dying, but it actually started with Mary making a deal with Azazel. I think that's something that has always bothered Dean since he found that out. He forgave her for it, and then later he lost her again. I thought it was so sad to see him lose somebody that important again, but I also believe that the Mary that came back was not the Mary that Dean always needed...

I have always loved the Dean/Mary dynamic so after the latest episode I had to make something about them.
