Jimmy Ruffin had become a successful Motown artist after his song "What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted" became a huge hit. His following singles were top notch quality, but somehow didn't achieve the same success as "What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted." This song, "Everybody Needs Love" had A-side single potential, but instead was the B-side to "I'll Say Forever My Love" in 1968. "Everybody Needs Love" was recorded by several Motown artists, but this version stands out to be the best.
