A 1930s era HMV 102 picnic gramophone as originally sold by Harrods of London. It is shown here playing "Twentieth Century Blues", sung by Noel Coward with backing from the New Mayfair Novelty Orchestra.
The song was first sung in the 1931 stage play Cavalcade. It was written to express the confusion and disappointment people felt after the war, while also showing the hope and patriotism of that time.
One of a number of instruments I presently have for sale on my website and eBay store.
