Calcium Reactor Installed on the Red Sea Reefer 625 XXL

It's taking a while but I have finally got my calcium reactor installed and running. I opted for the Reef Octopus CR 140 calcium reactor along with the Aquamaxx secondary chamber. The Reef Octopus provides controllability for pump speed and the ease of refilling the media. For the media, I went with a ratio of 90 percent reborn coral skeleton and 10 percent remag. This will ensure that I'm dosing calcium, alkalinity, magnesium and trace elements.

I am using a 10 pound CO2 gas tank along with a carbondoser. So far the tank has been pretty stable with my alk at 8.5dkh , mag at 1350ppm and calcium at 430ppm.

So far I've added in a few corals to test the water. I've also added in a clam to help polish the water. Let's hope they all grow in a few months.... Stay tuned!
