AI and Friendship in Jyväskylä | JYU for YOU (S02 E09)

In this week’s episode of the JYU for YOU podcast, we are joined by our friend Shaswato Sarker (Tirtha) from Bangladesh who shares with us his journey to the field of Artifical Intelligence at JYU. We get to hear what motivated him to apply to the University of Jyväskylä, what were all the things that inspired him to come to Finland and in what ways his current programme has provided him with the ability to delve deeply into his own curiosities.

Beyond just the academic sphere, we also discuss the thing almost every foreigner worries about when moving to a new country: making friends! Through this episode, we get to hear about the different resources available at JYU to connect with students: both local and international!

Finally, Shaswato encourages all students to have an open mind, to ignore the stereotypes and approach everything from a place of genuine interest and curiosity! Oh, and maybe give historical dancing a shot (don’t break a leg).
