Barrow Hill Roundhouse Re-opening with Flying Scotsman & Tornado, 24-09-17

On the weekend of 22nd-24th September it was the official re-opening of Barrow Hill Roundhouse after it's refurbishment and redevelopment. For such an occasion, a couple of "stars" were drafted in, these came in the shape of 60103 Flying Scotsman and 60163 Tornado.
The event was originally just going to be held over the Saturday and Sunday, but after the initial popularity of event was evident, the decision to make it a 3 day event was made.
The star of the show was Flying Scotsman. However it's god forsaken whistle was thankfully drowned out by the elegant chime whistle of Tornado.
The highlight of the show was to see the Peppercorn A1, and A3 Pacific double-head on the running line completing two trips, and they didn't disappoint in drawing the crowds both upon the train and capturing the spectacle from the sidelines.
