I have been thinking about and listening to a lot of these opera fantasies for piano this week, leading me to compose this grand 19-minute fantasy based on Georges Bizet's famous opera, Carmen. I also drew inspiration to a few other fantasias, such as the Sarasate Carmen Fantasy.
This might be my most difficult piece for now (might even take me a long time to learn it lol), and this fantasy pays homage to the piano virtuoso legend himself, Franz Liszt (although this piece might not be on the same level as him lol)
You are all free to learn this piece (if u are willing to mess up ur hands AHAHAHAHA)
The piece begins with the prelude heard in the first act, mentioning the famous fate motif of Carmen. The Aragonaise dance comes after the prelude, before being proceeded by a cute version of the Toreador March. The Habanera, along with two variations of it, proves the versatility of the piece. The Seguedille comes after the Habanera, and then transitioning to the Danse Boheme. A cadenza of any improvisation is indicated in the score before the concluding section. The Toreador Song reintroduces the march theme mentioned earlier, and ends with a massive coda.
