Want one shot shape you can trust under pressure? Kyle Morris (Owner of The Golf Room; Golf Digest #1 Teacher in Ohio) explains Jack Nicklaus’s advice: develop a stock shot—then shows you the simple steep → shallow → steep pattern tour players use to repeat it.
You’ll learn:
What a “stock shot” is and why it lowers scores
The checkpoint: lead arm parallel, shaft slightly inside the target line
How to train back = steep, down = shallow, exit = steep
A mirror/alignment-stick drill you can do at home
Quick drill (at home or range):
At takeaway (lead arm parallel), feel the shaft pointing slightly inside the target line (steep feel).
Transition: let momentum shallow the shaft.
Through impact/exit: rotate so the shaft steepens again and face is controlled by your pivot.
