Short on time? Catch a glimpse of what it's like to attend one of NRF's Field Trips through our 1 Minute Field Trip series.
Field Trip #34 Former Badger Army Ammunition Plant: Healing of People & Place on Friday, May 16th, 2025 in Sauk County
Visit Maa Wákąčąk (Sacred Earth) to learn about projects underway to heal the land and people. Hear the history of the land from a Ho-Chunk perspective, through a century of Euro-American settlement, to the development of a massive ammunition plant. Now transformed into an expansive green space, the 7,400-acre Badger Lands are managed by three different landowners with a shared vision.
Thank you to Field Trip leaders Randy Poelma, Mike Mossman, Curt Meine and Grace Vosen and all Field Trip attendees for participating.
