After listening to PBS's Radiolab segment, "Speedthoven", I realized that there were no actual recordings of Beethoven's symphonies at the full speed he suggested in his metronome readings. I figured that I'll probably never be able to assemble an orchestra of my own.
Since recording music of my own, I was already a user of Audacity, a free, open-source audio editing suite. I simply took an old recording of a Herbert Von Karajan/Berlin Philharmoniker recording of the 3rd Symphony, and sped it up twice it's speed, which approximates the speed heard on the Radiolab segment.
The recording was a Deutsche Grammophon CD from 1979 or 1980.
