How to have the PERFECT DAY in Corpus Christi, Texas

OUR BEST DAY YET!

We weren't sure what to expect from Corpus Christi. The city name sounds latin?? and it's a ~300K people city that's simultaneously on the gulf, and on the border. It's a unique place.

TURNS OUT IT HAS A LOT TO OFFER, IN TERMS OF TOURISM!

We started off with a self-guided tour of the USS Lexington-- which is a decommissioned aircraft carrier that was built in the 40s. It's awesome. if you're like me (Steve) and like learning history (especially WW2), the Lexington is absolutely a must-do-in-Corpus-Christi.

From there we went for an A- seafood lunch, at Doc's Seafood. Everyone really enjoyed their food, although we cannot give an A+ because Steve's sandwich was a bit of a mess. He eats like an animal though, so maybe he is to blame. Anyway, it was a great meal.

Afterwards we bought some A+ FRESH SEAFOOD, and Steve had an idea to book a windsurfing lesson. The reason is: we are staying on Padre Island, surrounded by the water, and also very windy. The trouble was: it was in fact too windy for a beginner. No sweat: onto our fish and shrimp barbecue.

Now: Steve's parents have a fair amount of food phobia. Watching their reaction to our food prep was fun... and after a tumultuous fish fry (the wind and our lack of skill) Steve's parents loved it!! It was a great endcap to a fantastic time in Corpus Christi.
