In "The Path to Lawyer Well Being & Conscious Inclusion," part of Clifford Law Offices’ Continuing Legal Education program, Robert A. Clifford, Senior Partner at Clifford Law Offices, moderates a two-part discussion, with the first hour dedicated to the practical steps to shift the legal culture to focus on well-being. Panelists include Robin Belleau, Executive Director of the Lawyers' Assistance Program (LAP), James Faught, Associate Dean, Loyola University School of Law, Hon. E. Kenneth Wright, Jr., Presiding Judge, Cook County Circuit Court, Tracy L. Kepler, Director of the Center for Professional Responsibility, American Bar Association, and Karen Munoz, Lawyer, Certified Yoga Instructor, LAP Illinois Task Force on Well Being and CBA Member of Mindfulness & the Law Committee.
The second hour of the program shifts to a discussion addressing the implicit bias that occurs in every aspect of the law - from the courtroom to the law firm to legal non-profit organizations. The panelists for the second hour include Hon. Thomas More Donnelly, Cook County Circuit Court, Cunyon Gordon, Senior Counsel and Director, Settlement Assistance Program, Chicago Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights, Josie M. Gough, Assistant Dean for Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity at Loyola University Chicago’s School of Law, and Allison Wood, Principal at Legal Ethics Consulting, P.C.
