물질주의를 비판한다: Rina Sawayama - XS (2020) [가사해석]

제가 카드 목록에 추가한 리나 사와야마의 인터뷰 부분도 영어가 되신다면 꼭 보고 오시는 것을 추천드립니다.

얼핏 보면 가벼워 보일 수 있지만 자본주의, 물질주의, 지구, 그리고 인간 사회 등을 동시에 비판하는, 정말 많은 의미를 담고 있는 수작입니다.
노래와 뮤직비디오가 너무 좋아서 계속 듣고 있다가, 제목이나 가사가 귀에 확 안 들어와서 검색하여 유심히 살펴보는데 곡이 이렇게 더 좋아질 수가 있을까 싶었습니다.
앞으로도 계속 좋아할 것 같아요.
제목의 XS는 Excess(초과하다)의 발음만 차용하여 재치있게 바꾸었고,
리나 사와야마가 직접 코멘트 단 공식 2절에 정말로 하고 싶었던 말로 보이는 구절이 있습니다.
대략 내용인 즉슨 지구의 자원은 한정되어 있지만, 사람들은 '나 하나 더 쓴다고 자원이 고갈되거나 하겠어?'라고 생각하게 만드는 극한의 자본주의 체제를 비판하는 내용입니다.
캠브리지에서 정치학을 배운 사람이라 그런지 수준이 아주 남다르네요..

이번 XS부터 너무 제 마음을 사로잡아서 며칠 내내 이 노래만 들었답니다 ㅠㅠ
