Some Grandsire Cinques recorded at the RWNYC 2019 weekend, during Pier Head's Friday night practice.
The bells of Our Lady and St Nicholas, Liverpool, comprise of a 41cwt ring of twelve with a tenor ringing out the note of C. Pier Head is known as Liverpool's "light" twelve, with the Anglican Cathedral's 82cwt twelve being the heavier twelve which also happen to be the heaviest ring of bells in the world. During WWII, the old ring of bells were removed from the tower of Pier Head for safe keeping with the intentions of returning them after the war had ended. However, the church was almost totally destroyed by enemy action. Only the Victorian tower and wings survived the Blitz. In 1952, a brand new 41cwt twelve in C was cast by John Taylor and Co. of Loughborough. They are highly regarded as one of the finest peals of bells in the UK. Enjoy!
