Laughing about it, Divya says, “That campaign stopped midway, and so did our World Cup wins,” making him quite the lucky charm of Indian cricket.

Years later, destiny brought him back to the field once again, this time to sing the anthem for the Indian Women’s Cricket Team that went on to win the World Cup this year.

Divya also opens up about the lesser-known realities of playback singing, the uncertainty, the struggle, and the undying hope of finding that one song that changes everything. He reveals how singers often sign contracts for just ₹11, how some of his biggest hits earned him no money, and how one of his songs was replaced by Diljit Dosanjh in The Ba**ds of Bollywood*.
