Yesterday, I went to the KWVR. It was a lovely day, with some lovely weather, and here's the video I filmed - enjoy!
The Keighley-Oxenhope branch was opened by the Midland Railway in 1867, originally having a trestle bridge over a pond near Oakworth. Due to various problems with this structure and other niggles, the section between Oakworth and Haworth was rebuilt in 1892, which included the boring of a new tunnel at Mytholmes. Due to declining traffic, the branch closed in 1962, however in 1968 the whole route was re-opened as a preserved railway by the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Preservation Society. Following the filming of classic film 'The Railway Children' at Oakworth station, the line became a popular attraction, and remains so to this day.
