I headed over to Hayfield in the Peak District for this camp. Joining me on this camp was an old mate of mine.
Starting from Hayfield, we made our way up William Clough in the direction of Mill Hill. Once we were at the top of the clough, we next made our way up Ashop Head and onto the plateau of Kinder Scout.
From the top of Ashop Head, we travelled over to the northern edge of Kinder and made our way to Fairbrook Naze. Along the way, we managed to grab some water, so that meant that we didn't have to walk to Fairbrook itself to collect some.
Our first intended campsite was basically waterlogged, so we went to another spot that I knew, where the ground was dry and we pitched our tents there. After we had pitched up, we went for a stroll down to the Pedestal Stone where we bumped into Craig from Moz & Brads Wild Camps (@mozandbradswildcamps) and we stopped and had a good old chat together.
We then returned to our tents, where we continued to drink beer. As it was approaching midnight, I decided to cook some food, in the form of Jalfrezi chicken curry, pilau rice and roasted cashew nuts. After that and with a full stomach, I turned in for the night.
The next day as we were packing up, Craig from the previous evening came over to say, "Hello". Once again, we chatted for a while before parting company. After that, we made our way to Ashop Head then down William Clough and back into Hayfield, where we called in at the Sportsman pub, for a couple of pints and some pub grub.
This was another thoroughly enjoyable camp, with lots of laughs along the way, chatting with people all mixed together with superb views.👍
