In this video I compare the Celestion guitar speakers that Marshall amps used in their combos and cabs in the 1980s. I'm playing all speakers in a 1987 Marshall Silver Jubilee model 2554 1x12 combo using a 1973 Gibson Les Paul Custom (Bridge pickup: 1973 DiMarzio Super Distortion). The speakers are:
1. 1981 Celestion G12-65 T3054 (1777 lead cone) 16 Ohm
2. 1981 Celestion G12-80 T3055 (1777 lead cone) 8 Ohm
3. 1985 Celestion G12H-100 T3593 (1777 lead cone) 4 Ohm
4. 1985 Celestion G12T-75 T3781 (1777 lead cone) 8 Ohm
5. 1987 Celestion Marshall Vintage V30 T3896 (444 bass cone) 8 Ohm
6. 1984 Celestion G12M-70 T3575 (2712? cone) 4 Ohm
I will post my conclusions in the comment section and pin the comment so you can find it on top. There I will discuss potential factors influencing the tones.
