La Belle France is in the process of restoring Chartres Cathedral too its original glory,so now you can see,in part, what it would have looked like in 1100 to the original parishioners etc.
If you’ve ever been in an old church, they all tend to be dark & dismal from the smoke & grime of centuries, , a 1000 years in the case of Chartres Cathedral,which is partly covered & scaffolded but parts are now completely restored & are amazing & glorious even.....
& then the organist started practising!!
