Woodturning is a beautiful art form that has been around for centuries. It’s a craft that has been handed down from generation to generation. But in recent times, woodturning has undergone a revolution. New methods are being developed all the time that allows woodturners to embellish their work in ways that weren’t even thought possible before.

This is the subject of today’s video. The first part of the video was actually part of a live demo I recently did for worldwidewooturners.org. We will be discussing some of the amazing innovative embellishing methods that you can use to take their work to the next level.

Many have been using coffee grounds, brass key filings, pulverized shell, etc. for some time now. I've taken it a step further. I will be showing you how I use fabric and braided line to embellish your turnings.

While I didn't show it in this video, color can be used in addition to the techniques I will demonstrate. Coloring has become increasingly popular in recent years. It involves using dyes and other chemicals to add color to wood. Used in conjunction with the methods demonstrated here can give your piece a very unique and stunningly beautiful look.

With the help of coloring, you can now add a unique and personal touch to their work. You can use different colors to highlight certain areas of the wood and create a stunning, one-of-a-kind piece.
