Capture of a landing approach using full flaps in the Schweizer 1-35C. Add flaps and you have to put the nose way down to maintain airspeed.
This glider has flaps only, no spoilers/air brakes. Maximum flap setting is 85 degrees.
Descent rate maxed around 1000 feet per minute.
Indicated Field Elevation is 69 feet
00:00 Turn right base for runway 19 Zephyrhills. 700 feet MSL indicated on Oudie IGC
00:34 Add normal landing flap - 30 degrees, and get the nose down a bit at 605 feet MSL
00:42 Pull the flap lever all the way back at 550MSL, and get the nose down some more during turn to final
00:55 Cross the end of the runway at 415 MSL and 600+ fpm sink rate
01:10 Sink rate -950 fpm at 195 feet MSL
01:32 Touchdown and rollout to parking
