I posted Down by the Sally Gardens played on the Echo Harp a few years ago and it turned out to be one of my most popular posts with over nine thousand views. I look back at it now and think that I could have played it much better, so I thought I'd go back and re-visit it. First time around it was just a simple guitar accompaniment. This time I've tried to give it a bit of an arrangement by putting a whistle in the mix and a backing track programmed using Chordpulse.

The Hohner Echo Harp was first introduced in 1925 and over the years the design hasn't changed to any great extent. The sound has been described as like an accordion in a French café. This is the second Echo Harp that I've owned the first, my cat "Dillon" did something unthinkable to so I didn't want to put it in my mouth after that. If you fancy a try at the harmonica then I'd highly recommend you get hold of one of these wonderful instruments. You'll always have a happy tune right in your pocket.
