could put this on my "main" but i want people to watch it. this was supposed to come out on Kaori Oda's birthday (may 11th), sadly i'm a lazy ass fool and dragged on it too long so it's not a bday vid anymore. :(
she's my favorite singer ever so i'm a bit bummed about that but oh well, maybe next year

i love covering slow, chill songs more than anything else, and i love experimenting. a few different things about this video is that i'm covering a 6/4 song (as opposed to the usual 4/4), i've experimented a lot with RX7 for acapella extraction, and i've also played a lot with reaper's built-in sampler to slowly understand how to actually make music on a DAW. almost every track was covered in the usual ytpmv way of doing things, though. just a few leads went through the sampler for smooth-sounding very low or very high notes. i'll figure out what's best for me when it comes to combining classic and modern audio style. as for visuals, i'm testing out BCC's color keys, getting back on messing with displacement maps and trying out a less "screenflip-y" visual style. i hope it's pleasing to the eyes :)

special shoutouts to Guilt, Farmer, Fox, aozora and Nyu for their help on very important things during the making of this!

lastly, i'd really appreciate it if y'all could give Kaori's music a chance. imo, they really are something else compared to the usual pop music we're used to. "Flowers", her best album in my opinion, is the only one available in my country, though. but who knows, maybe her older songs aren't blocked in your region? only one way to find out! https://spoti.fi/2UGQHIG
