Bridling your horse for the first time can be a fun and easy step on his learning journey! I've used this method to successfully get colts used to the bit countless times. In most cases the horse will chew on the bit during his first bridling and that is totally normal. In fact I use it as a test to make sure the horse has never had a bit in his mouth because if they don't chew then I know they've been ridden.
