U.T.F.O (which stands for Untouchable Force Organization) was a hip-hop group founded by Full Force in Brooklyn, New York in 1983. The group consisted of Kangol Kid, Educated Rapper(aka EMD), Doctor Ice and Mix Master Ice. Kangol Kid and Doctor Ice were originally dancers for the group Whodini and Doctor Ice is also the brother of Whodini member, Jalil. UTFO's best known record is 'Roxanne, Roxanne', released in 1984, a widely-acclaimed and hip-hop classic of the Golden Era of Hip-Hop during the 1980s, which created a sensation on the hip-hop scene soon after it was released and inspired numerous 'answer' records, most notably by Marley Marl's protégé Roxanne Shante (not to be confused with the female rapper The Real Roxanne).
UTFO released six albums between 1984 and 1991. Their list of hits came during the mid 1980s, which includes 'Roxanne Roxanne', 'Leader Of The Pack', 'Pick Up The Pace', 'Split Personality', 'Ya Cold Wanna Be With Me'. UTFO broke up after its last album Bag It and Bone It in 1991, and the group's former members went their separate ways. Kangol Kid went on to produce for the Hip/Hop R&B group Whistle. Doctor Ice had left UTFO in the late 1980s before the breakup, and released two unnoticed solo albums. Both Doctor Ice and Kangol Kid were featured on the remix of 'Where Are They Now?' by Nas on his Hip-Hop Is Dead album in 2006. Doctor Ice reunited with his brother Jalil when Whodini appeared at the BET Hip Hop awards in 2007.
