On April 1, 2025, SCAG hosted the “Expanding Zero-Emission Vehicle Infrastructure in Under-Resourced Areas” Toolbox Tuesday session to explore innovative strategies to bring zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) to under-resourced communities.
The distribution of ZEV charging infrastructure across the SCAG region has not extended into many areas of persistent poverty. This Toolbox Tuesday session explained how local governments can expand ZEV infrastructure in such areas by increasing the number of pole-mounted chargers and creating public-private partnerships for electric vehicle-sharing, among other efforts.
