The apostles used the Greek name Iēsous (Ἰησοῦς) for the Messiah. It’s a faithful Greek rendering of the Hebrew name Yeshua. Over time, as the Gospel spread into Latin and English-speaking cultures, Iēsous became “Jesus.” This was not a pagan corruption—but a natural language evolution under the hand of a God who said:

God knew every tribe, language, and people would need to call on His name. He is not confused by pronunciation—He looks at the heart.
