The Priestly Blessing, or Aaronic Benediction as it is often called, is one of the most powerful prayers in the Bible. "The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace." (Numbers 6:24-26) The purpose of this blessing was to invoke God's Name upon His People so that God could bless them. Both Jews and Christians recite this blessing today. Three sentences, composed of fifteen Hebrew words, and ends with the highest and greatest gift: SHALOM (PEACE).
