1. Hoysaleshwara Temple (Halebidu):

Built in 1121 AD during the reign of King Vishnuvardhana of the Hoysala Dynasty, this temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva.

It features exquisite soapstone carvings depicting scenes from the Ramayana, Mahabharata, and Bhagavad Gita.

Despite being attacked by invaders, the temple still stands as a symbol of Hoysala grandeur.

2. Kedareshwara Temple (Halebidu):

Constructed in the 13th century by King Veera Ballala II and dedicated to Lord Shiva.

🗺️ Travel Route from Bangalore to Halebidu & Belur:

🚗 By Car: (~220 km, 4.5 - 5 hours)

Start from Bangalore via NH75 towards Hassan (180 km).

From Hassan, take the Hassan - Belur Road (35 km) to Halebidu.

Belur is just 16 km from Halebidu, making it easy to explore both on the same trip.


🚌 By Bus:

KSRTC & private buses operate from Bangalore to Hassan.

From Hassan, take a local bus or taxi to Halebidu & Belur.


🚆 By Train:

Nearest railway station: Hassan Junction (32 km from Halebidu).

Regular trains run from Bangalore to Hassan, followed by a cab or bus ride.
