Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common cause of chronic liver disease and rapidly becoming the leading cause of liver cancer and liver transplantation in the United States and other industrialized countries. NAFLD not only affects the liver but is also a multi-organ disease with increased risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular and kidney diseases.
Launched in June 2018, the International NASH Day is a public education campaign to raise visibility and urgency around NAFLD and its more advanced form, non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
To mark International NASH Day (June 9, 2022), Fatty Liver Foundation (FLF) and Hepatitis B Initiative of Washington, DC, (HBI-DC) are hosting this live and interactive webinar dedicated to the NAFLD/NASH pandemic from patients’ perspectives. Discussions will include:
• NAFLD/NASH 101: Epidemiology, Disease State, Diagnostics, and Treatment
• Innovations in non-invasive NAFLD/NASH testing
• Lessons learned from real-life, community-based NAFLD/NASH screening program
