Kodiak Island is an epic stage for a weeklong solo hunting trip for blacktail deer. This is my first experience hunting blacktail deer and my first trip to Kodiak, which is why doing all of this alone is that much more to chew on.
The transport, food, and sleeping accommodations that Big Dan's boat and crew, the Double Down, provided were an above average experience. It was the perfect blend of rugged bush crashing hunting trips paired with a hot meal waiting for you on the boat when you were done with your day.
I will do this trip again, likely many times!
