A riot broke out at a Guns N’ Roses concert at Riverport Amphitheatre (now Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre) on July 2, 1991, as the band was playing “Rocket Queen.” Singer Axl Rose, upset over a fan taking pictures of the show, jumped into the audience and grabbed the camera. When he went back on stage, he threw down his microphone and said he was “going home.” A riot subsequently ensued, injuring dozens of people and resulting in several arrests. The band would not play another show in St. Louis for more than 25 years.
