The VAST Horopito Motors scrapyard in the 1970s!! | New Zealand's finest junkyard?

Classic cars galore - many of British manufacture - at the legendary Horopito Motors scrapyard in 1970s New Zealand make up this unique collection of images. My huge thanks to Peter Ward for sending me stacks of old car photos that he had taken over the years, he visited Horopito Motors in the late 1970s and took a wealth of photographs. This fabled junkyard is still in business, I wonder how many of the now-classic cars that are shown here in the 1970s survive, and if they do, what condition they are in now?
This NZ scrapyard was packed to the rafters with amazing cars and mountains of super-rare spare parts. Gems that are featured amongst the scrap cars include many examples of the Singer SM1500 and Hunter, a car hardly ever encountered nowadays at classic car shows here in the UK but numerous in this scrapyard. Are any of them still there? The thumbnail shows a complete Singer Hunter being dragged into the junkyard behind a recovery vehicle - I wonder what fate befell this tatty old jalopy?
Other old cars include example(s) of Armstrong Siddeley, various Austin "counties" cars, Vauxhalls, pre-war Fords, an Austin A99 Westminster "ute", Wolseleys, pre-war Chevrolet, Jaguar saloons of the 1950s, DKW, Hillmans, Standards, and lots more. It was a great pleasure to spend the time scanning and poring over the photos that have gone into this video.
I'll be uploading another video compiled from Peter's photos showing many of the interesting older cars he spotted still in use in New Zealand during several visits he made in the late 1970s and early 1980s, so please keep an eye on the channel for that one.
