Kyleigh was born deaf and her condition was diagnosed at 5 weeks old. A genetic test confirmed that she has a recessive mutation on the Conexin26 gene. She was 8 months old when she got her bilateral Cochlear Implants surgery (CIs). They were activated the day after she turned 9 month old. This is her initial reaction. She has been thriving since.
