Summer 2017. While visiting a Bluegrass recording studio in Buckhorn, Kentucky the guys from Gamechanger Audio came across a truly American Artefact - The Bug Zapper.
Having never seen such a device in Europe, the Bug Zapper seemed like a fascinating device, and kind of sparked an inside joke - we should totally make that into a pedal.
The idea stuck and a few months later the guys at Gamechanger Audio started their first experiments with converting audio signal into High Voltage bursts and producing Electrical Arcs.
It only took a few months to develop a proof-of-concept working prototype and the first finished PLASMA Pedal design was unveiled in January 2018.
