I Love Phants Documentary Short by Chris Carthern | Shots By Shinobi in Thailand

After visiting an unethical elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai in 2012 I wanted to find an ethical elephant sanctuary in Thailand once I moved there 7 years later. I found an ecotourism sanctuary and rescue centre in Thailand. I stayed for a couple nights at the eco-lodge, I Love Phants Lodge, by the Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand (WFFT). The Wildlife Friends Foundation Thailand based in Petchaburi province Thailand that works to rescue, rehabilitate and release, where possible, animals back into the wild. I completed a tour of the facilities and saw the many types of animals the WFFT helps. It is important when traveling to see animals you do research and to be sure you are putting your money into a place that is ethical and really takes care of the animals.

There are many attractions where tourists unwittingly and wittingly contribute to the suffering of animals. Elephant riding, and posing with animals for photos are just a few examples.
