The historic Grooms Cemetery circa 1788 is located in Clifton Park, NY. It has a little over 200 gravestones. The church congregation merged with the Shenendehowa United Methodist Church in the late 1950's. The old 1834 church building was being used as a Furniture Store (Deacons Bench) when it burned down in 1975. The cemetery has been maintained by the Boy Scouts and Church Members over the years. Downed trees and weather have taken their toll. A church committee made a proposal to pay for materials to reset, fix, and clean the grave stones. My friend Robert donated the use of his backhoe, and I used my experience from repairing the Amity Reformed Cemetery in Vischer Ferry NY. It's been a great experience and I've met some great people.
