DON'T STOP MOVING!
Alan Thrall's Video: • I HURT MY BACK! What to do now
If your back pain is not similar to what is described in this video and it lasts for an extended time after the initial injury then it is best that you go see a doctor!
I am not a licensed professional and the following comments are based on individual research and experience with the issue first hand: Lifting weights and placing tremendous loads on our spine is a huge stressor on our bodies. When we feel these pops or snaps in our lower back that lead to extreme pain, it is likely due to movement in our spine while under tremendous loads which our body attempts to prevent from occurring by quickly tensing up all of the surrounding muscles around the low back or site of the vertebral movement. This is the extreme pain you are feeling. Our body sends pain signals whenever our spine moves or we hinge at our hips after as our body is simply trying to keep itself safe and protected. So there likely isn't actually anything wrong! Your back is just trying to keep you safe and it will take you moving as much as possible and avoiding things like laying down and sitting in order to get back to doing what you love quickly. Don't over do it but don't stop your daily habits because of this. Adapt and overcome and follow the advice in this video and you will be back before you know it!
