Reaction video: INFP Evaluates Rationalist Libertarian Position

If you have an odd (and very patient) sense of humor, I have a video for you here -- an INFP is supposedly deep in feels -- reacting to a video made by libertarian rationalist thinker MentisWave. It looks from my point of view like a role reversal: The thinker is appealing to emotion and the feeler is leaning into logic.

From my point of view, I see glaring issues in MentisWave's argumentation -- to me, it is selectively biased, appeals to base feelings, and encourages tribalism and uncompromising intransigence: It's impractical and unrealistic in its assessment and any suggested outcomes. In short another voice of our time reflecting the dysfunctionality of the current US political environment. Which is also as designed. It is in the American spirit to complain about government.

Unfortunately, what succeeds are voices that speak rationally on the surface while actually pushing buttons on feelings underneath. I'm just an introverted judging lead -- I am an evaluator. I am not cognitively set up to be an influencer.

I'm not linking to MentisWave here directly because I don't want anything to do with political circles. I made this video only because it was interesting to cover the difference in style of argumentation. The original video by MentisWave is titled "Entitlements are not Rights". Check him out if you like these sorts of topics, whether for or against.

And as a side note, it's probably obvious but I am not dispassionate to the plight of the poor. It was just not in the scope of this video. I don't have any strong policy positions here, and it would be impractical for me to take the time to establish them unless I had a meaningful reason to do it.

In the US, there is opportunity to have meaningful input at the local level of government. Democracy is not a spectator sport as they say. From my experience, local government is always looking for talent to help. Over the years, I've volunteered for charities and been part of municipal committees in areas where I could contribute meaningfully. If you are in the US, you can, too.
