I PAINTED MY NEW BIKE 🎨🚲 It turned out EPIC!

I got a used Norco Range frame from a Sweetlines teammate. It was brown and looking tired from a hard season of racing last year. SO, me and my dad decided to paint the bike! This was my first time doing any of this, I learned a lot and it turned out awesome!

My first full suspension bike had 20" wheels and came with a white front triangle and a blue rear triangle because that was the only open available. But I grew to love it and decided to recreate that paint scheme on this bike. We color matched the white and blue at the paint store, and decided to add red splatter paint color matched to Rockshox cherry red.

First I had to take all the parts off the bike and separate the carbon frame into three pieces - I had never done that before either! Then I started sanding - that took me several days to finish. I finished preparing the bike pushing rubber plugs into the openings and taping over other parts that I did not want to get painted.

We got a sprayer and two-part automotive paint from a car paint store - this stuff was surprisingly expensive and very new to me. But I got the hang of it after a while.

I sprayed many layers of primer and paint before stopping to add Norco decals to the frame. Then I sprayed on the clear coat. It was difficult to get the paint to lay down smoothly, and we did make some mistakes. With the first few layers of primer, we forgot to shake the can, and had to sand it off and start over.

But in the end, it turned out perfect. I'm so happy with it and can't wait to build and ride it. Stay tuned, build video coming next! Like and subscribe so you won't miss out!
