Vacuum Metal Deposition, otherwise known as VMD, is the deposition of very thin layers of metals onto an exhibit surface in a vacuum chamber to visualise latent fingerprints.
It is a very powerful technique for developing latent fingerprints on non-porous, semi-porous and even some porous exhibits.
In this video, Anita demonstrates how easy it is to use our popular VMD560 system by carrying out a gold/zinc development on a satin fabric sample.
Our VMD fingerprinting systems are available worldwide!
